Thank you so much for the detailed critique! I really appreciate the time it must have taken you to look so carefully. It’s interesting, I’ve gotten the most positive feedback on 3 and 7, and yes, you’re, right, 3 is souped up 7. 8 was definitely my favorite, but I’m positive that it’s because of the symmetry in the design and my affinity for that. Based on what you may have read in my description of what I was shooting for, would you recommend that I go back to the drawing board and start from scratch? If not, I sure would love any suggestions that you might have time to provide. I deeply appreciate your feedback!

i like the simplicity and cleanliness of 7 and it’s the most verstile candidate. it will reproduce well in any medium and could be scaled to planetary proportions without any issues, but it lacks the organic vibe of some of the others.

3 is just a tarted up 7. lose it.

eliminate 8. it lacks distinctive character and looks like a flower doodle.

i like the combination of curves and corners on 2. it’s very alive, suggesting arms and eyes and roots and life and friendly monsters. i would like to see a higher-resolution version. the roughness and multiple tones might prove problematic for reproduction in a single color or at very low sizes.

i like 6 for many of the same reasons i like 2, but in a softer, leafier, more tree and octupus kind of way. same concerns apply for small sizes. the detail is going to get lost, particularly in print. the interior spirals will fill in completely.

1 is too messy. looks like someone tried to do 7 with fingerpaints. lose it.

5 has a nice balance and flow about it. i imagine it’s what 2 is like when 2 hasn’t been out all night drinking and scaring small children.
